I have a 1997 960 wagon and for the past year or so I have done without temperature control in the car, opting to just leave the heat exchange door open or closed, manually, while I procrastinated about this one part. The servo motor, part 3522797 / 4970, may or may not work. I have tested or replaced pretty much every part between the panel controls and this part.
So, my question is this: how do I test this part to make sure it works? I don't want to just buy a replacement part and find that it doesn't fix the problem (something I did with a different, expensive part). It could be a wire problem and not this part, you know.
Thanks for your help.
