Wanted: 740 or 940 in Phoenix, AZ

Wanted 740 or 940 in good running condition with nice interior. Prefer red or white (no dark colours) and cloth interior. Sunroof is a plus. MUST have working air-conditioning and be able to pass emissions test. I'd be willing to buy a car in Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, El Paso, San Diego or Palm Springs areas. Max 350 miles from Phoenix. Price range up to $3000.

Here your go, possibly the lowest mileage on in the world but you will have to ship or fly in and drive it back
Seller keeps insisting it's a 960 but it's obviously a 940.

I amended my post to make it even more explicit. I know of plenty of nice cars outside my geographic area. It would cost me $1500 to have a car transported to Arizona from New England.

You have to understand something, when a buyer wants a very nice car that's 20 years old!!! you need to find the best one available and then figure out transportation.
If you limit yourself to these areas you may never find one.

I only gave you (possibly) the best one available. (I know what you wanted, I can read)
