2008 XC90 Car does not have to be in park to remove key

I can turn off the engine and remove the key while the car is still in drive. The car has 84000 miles.

I almost wish I had that problem. Sometimes my key almost seems to get stuck, as in not being able to turn it to the off position unless I do a quick cycle again. I hope it's just a minor annoyance and not the sign of a worse problem in the makings.

A friend who works at an independent shop has axc90 where the key will not go past acc setting. he said there was a TSB on the issue. Might be worth investigiating.
