2006 XC70 50K miles- what spark plug? The OEM at FCP Groton are $60, Bosch Plat and Iridium are 1/2 that. What is best for my car? I just want to get a new set in before the winter here in NY...

You don't want to buy them from the dealer.
I use NGK Platinums in one car and NGK Iridiums in the other.

Buy OEM Volvo plugs (from many places)
You don't need to spend the extra from the dealer

plugs are $60 at FCP? wow. I just bought Volvo plugs from them Friday for my 03 S60 and they were half that. I know the 06 is a turbo, thicker head and a different plug, but I'm surprised it would be twice as much. I like FCP, but I'd shop around at that price.

I feel that the three 'electrodes' make a difference when accelerating.

Search the oem part # on ebay, there is a set on there for $35 or offer plus free shipping.

I don't :) Volvo OE, NGK Platinum, cheapest copper core Bosch - all works well, can't feel any difference.

Take your pick of a O.E. quality plug. Keep in mind "Volvo" doesn't make spark plugs so why pay for the name. I believe Volvo plugs are Bosch. Look on the box for the country of origin if you'd like. I have NGK Iridium in my 2001. I like the Fine electrode & run them in all my cars.
