Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone else had had this problem. My car is a used 95 turbo wagon 850 - with 100,000 miles on it. I just put about 1000 miles on it, when the "service" light came on, then a few days later the "check engine" light came on as well.
Ok, I did a bit of reading on Bay 13, the most common cause is a leak in some of the rubber elbows in the engine bay - now, my question is, as I'm sure some of you may have encountered the problem, so how much did it cost to fix? I hear the elbows themselves are cheap at the V dealer, how much was your overall costs including inspection etc?
What I'm afraid of, is that this is a bigger problem, as I don't know the history of the car. So, have any of you gotten the 2-3-2 code from the A2 diagnostic port, and found out you had a deeper engine problem(s)?
I can go back to the V dealer I bought it from, and he'll probably give me a good deal, but I don't want to get ripped off either. Thanks for all your (future) help!

The main elbow that fails is behind the ps pump. You can see if its worn or cracked. If it is you can do it yourself. May take alot of patience though since its a tight area to work in.
Did you buy the car recently from that dealer? Usually a dealer will give you 30 day warranty. (but it would have to be in writing)
Since you have a 95 you can reset the CE yourself and see if it returns as well as your service light. Instructions are at bay13 on how to do this.

I did use bay13's instructions ( printed it out and brought it down to my car ) and it's after 30 days, so warranty doesn't apply anymore.
I reset the CE light, but not the service light yet. Now, what I'm concerned about is, that the CE doesn't come back (has been 2 days). So, what IF there is a problem, and now I'm choosing to ignore it???
Anyway, the safest bet is for me to bring it in back to the dealer anyway...
