Hello. On my wife's 2001 S40, a strip of metal, steel, about 30" long has come "unglued" from the front edge of the sunroof glass. It looks to have been epoxied in place and simply popped loose. It rattled around above the closed sunroof until I opened the roof and took it out.
Has anyone else seen this? Can I simply mix some new epoxy and glue it back? The sunroof appears to open and close without, but it might be needed to reinforce the front edge of the glass.
Thanks and regards,
-stephen

I have glued dozens of these back on.
Clean the area and the beam well. Lacquer thinner or brake cleaner spray on a rag works well.
I use JB weld quick setting. I find it to be great and never fails for lots of applications like this.
The beam is needed or you usually have wind noise. The glass has enough flex that it will bow upwards in the middle.
I use ratcheting woodworking clamps to hold it until it sets. Practice with clamps before you go with the epoxy.
