recently replace ETM with XEMODEX...runs great.
now i still have 3 issues, which dont come up on my mechanics diagnostic tools:
1) cruise control doesn't engage at times, at othersw, works just fine
2) at times it seems as if my a/c (though you hear it still working and fan blowing) doesn't blow air, then the fan turns back on and blows again
3) after i shut off car, the interior fan at times starts on its own and stays running for long periods of time
any suggestions with these...
of course, i have the constant seat belt orange triangle and transmission fixed next service lights...these i guess are another Volvo mystery, lol
thanks for the help...bless
2000 s80 2.9 cruise control works on and off, int fan...

1) Could be the brake pedal position sensor mounted on the brake booster. Could also be the ABS module.
3) Is it about an hour after the car has been turned off? Does it run for about 10 minutes on full blast? If so, that's to protect the AC system.

Thank you for the reply matt5112, my cruise control cuts out or won't switch on, but I seem to get a constant error code (9400 with an Autel 702) for brake pedal position sensor. Will look at fixing as per this: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=71089
The cruise control might be affected by the steering wheel control unit going bad. For the OP, does your information display work ok (doesn't go blank when trying to set the cruise) and all the steering wheel controls for the stereo work? I have issues with the cruise (can't set it) when I use the audio track forward/back control on the steering wheel and it blanks out the info panel in the dash (from displaying fuel range, average consumption etc) I don't get a code for this which would fit..
Could it be a dodgy/sticky relay?? Also, there is a little electric fan that blows air over the climate control temp sensor (which ends up covered in dust - mine needed a clean) which is normal and the interior fan doesn't stop until I remove the key from the lock...I'll confirm the latter though.
Regarding the transmission service warning, it's a 'feature' of the car! The code reader I have, reads ABS/SRS/TCM (Transmission) and engine - so with the right diagnostic tool you might find extra codes. Do you really want to know?
Cheers,
Chris
