i just purchased a 2005 V70 with 135k and all the stamped books- service preformed at all factory recomended mileage.
I got the service history ( After I purchased it) and it shows a Camshaft Code-
Here is the number on the RO (15V0Z16) I have no idea if that means anything-
In hand writing it states " Removed Timimg cover found a lot of play on Camshaft hubs" Before I take it to Volvo can this be fixed by my local Volvo shop?
If so what is involved?

Both hubs have VVT. The play is normal if it's left or right play however in-out play against the cam journals is not a good sign. You have 2 VVT solenoids under the left cover. Check that both connectors are firmly seated and free of corrosion.
Also check for oil leaks around the base of the VVT solenoids as their operation is dependant on hydraulic action. If there's a lot of oil there from the gaskets replace the gaskets.
VVT hubs rarely fail however another problem may be that one of the solenoids has failed and requires replacement.
Another possible issue may be the belt has skipped a tooth and reference of timing hss been lost.
