clunk going into drive

Post by notny41 »

So I've noticed that when I put it into drive it waits a good second or a little longer to engage if it is the first time I get in for the day. And when it does go into gear it is a pretty hard and ugly jerk.

I see in the manual that it says there is a little delay before it engages, but should it really be that violent?

Possibly my tranny fluid needs a change or the upper and lower motor mounts?

Thanks

Ya think?
Absolutely, the trans needs a service and check ALL the mounts.
AGAIN, you guys have to give the year, model and mileage for anyone to give you an educated response.
You should also have the axles checked at that time
If it's an 01, have the latest software downloaded and get rid of the stop neutral if it hasn't been done already

Mine also sometime pauses before taking off from a green light. Other wise the trans seems to perform excellent. When are the maintence interval for the geartronic trans.

Thanks guy (and gals)

Volvo recommend an 'inspection' at alternate service intervals. Inspection includes 'correct and replace if necessary'. Fluid change is not specified.
