1999 S70 T5 Check Engine Code P0014

Post by wllewis »

The check engine light on my '99 S70 T5 recently came on and when I look it to a repair shop they ran the code on it and got P0014. After a little research the mechanic said it was a problem with a camshaft solenoid (?) but that he wasn't familar enough with the problem and I should take it to the dealer. He also noted it may be an issue with the software being bad (any idea of the magnitude if this were the case.)

On a previous visit to the dealer (when the check engine light came on previously), the code came back as a camshaft reset (or reset) valve and I had them replace it. However, when they installed the new part, the light came back on, so they then put the old part back in and the light went away. It sounds like I'm heading into the same territory again with the lateset check engine light incident. Any experiences with this code? I should add, the shop cleared the code and the light has not came back on yet.
