1994 850, Manual Gear Box run out :(

Hi guys,
Happy holidays for everyone!
I had a major problem / issue with my car yesterday, the gear box is gone

I don't know how but it ran with out oil or the oil was mixed with water, bottom
line, the car doesn't run, the shift are so hard, the sound of the gear box is
terrible! So here in Costa Rica I don't have to much alternative to fix it.
I want to ask you guys if you know if I can buy in the US some kit of the mechanism
of the gear box who do the shift between 1, 2,3,4,5 & reverse, here the mechanic
call it synchronize system, the model of the gear box is M56L, hope i can find it in the States, or have some advice from where I can find it, or buy one from a junk yard.

Oz, you have a manual transmission too, right? any advice?

A salvage yard is your path of least resistance if you can find one. Volvo doesn't sell the internal parts and I can't find any other vendors. If the transmission ran without oil the bearings are likely shot as well and I would be very suspect of the input shaft itself.

If it helps, I think most of the M56 transmissions were made by Getrag and there are some Renault and Peugeot cars that supposedly share the transmission although it may have a different model designation.
