I have a 2000 V40 with 147k on it. Fluids are all good, was driving fine earlier today, but after lunch I got the up arrow flashing, CEL, won't shift out of second nonsense. I tried "rowing" the gear selector to clean the PNP switch a few times, but to no avail. It's also shifting into reverse harder than normal so I'm guessing my transmission is gone and I'm car shopping? Help?

i have a 2002 s40 and got same issue... codes from dealer gave me a bad solenoid in the transmission.. checked solenoid and its was good.. finally i found the problem, a cut cable from transmission to transmission computer... good luck
