With checking microswitches just check that when they close (or open depending whether they are normally open or normally closed wired) that voltage flows through them at the same measured rate as the input voltage.

If they're burned there will be a voltage drop on the output side.

Great news! After manually retracting the top a little bit, the top comes alive! The only issue is with the rear convertible trunk top lid (the piece that covers the top when retracted). When putting the top up, the aforementioned piece will come down but then the process completely stops, leaving the rear window folded back. As the previous posts have stated, it sounds like a microswitch. Just wondering if there was a particular microswitch to check that would cause these symptoms?

There are microswitches in these locations: On RH front top frame, 2. Rear one detects latch/lift bar travel forward endpoint and front detects the latch/lift bar rear endpoint. These come loose and can be glued back to frame with JB Weld epoxy. These signal Conv roof module (CRM) to stop the latch bar motor for end points being achieved.
One on RH hinge point for tension bow (rear piece of top with glass) to detect that the tension folded all the way up. Stops TBow motor for that direction.
One in each coverplate lift arm latch opening. When Tbow motor drives TBow down these switches stop motor for that endpoint.
One in each coverplate latch. The coverplate latches look like a pelican beak and are on each side of top well forward. The coverplate is lowered down and these finish the last 3/4 inch and lock the coverplate to body. These signal CRM to stop the coverplate latch motor on latch completion.
One on RH windshield guide pin hold so CRM will know top goes into place as latch/lift bar travels toward latching front top frame to windshield frame.

Position sensors: One on left coverplate lift arm and one on RH top hinge.
The coverplate lift arms do several things. 1. lift coverplate so top can go into storage well. 2. lower coverplate and park ready to accept Tbow catches. 3. Grab Tbow catches and pull TBow down to seal rear edge of top to coverplate. 4. Compress folded down top into well for compact storage. All 4 of these are stored positions for CRM to set left arms to for operation.
Postion sensor on top tracks top position so motor can be stopped in up or down positions and so other operations can start or stop as top is moved.

The top stopping when coverplate should be latching tells me the latching isn't completing for coverplate.

Manual top operation Top up: open trunk. Two flaps in carpet on upper forward trunk wall cover two motor manual drive accesses. Use allen wrench (I think it is 5mm, it is whatever fits...) to rotate the lower motor to lift the Tbow, stop the instant you see the coverplate move upwards. Raise TBow to fold forward position. Remove motor cover and use allen wrench to unlatch and lift the front section of top until you feel allen wrench force increase (bind). The top will be at 20 degrees +/-.
Insert larger flat blade screwdriver into the other hold in trunk wall and push in and turn a few turns to unlatch coverplate. Use allen swrench in the other hole and rotate it to lift the coverplate until it is almost vertical. It will bind at this point. grab front top section and fold all the way into well.
Lower coverplate by turning allen wrench in trunk wall access until the coverplate lowers and then further until it binds. The lift arms will be holding top compressed in folded position now. Rotate the screwdriver inserted into the other access in trunk until the latches click indicating latch closed. Rotate the screwdriver back and allow the screw to pop out. This re-engages motor to cable drive.
Action is complete.

To put top up do all in complete reverse with one added step: After top is lifted out of storage well to forward position and the front section is lowered and latched, lower coverplate down via allen wrench in trunk access and then remove one of the covers from latch hole in coverplate. Turn the allen wrench to get the latch pawl that enters the rectangular opening at front to be even with rectangular opening at front. This sets this latch to accept the TBow catches. Once TBow catches drop into rectangular opening further travel of lift arms downward pushes pawl into TBow catches and then lift arm lowers to pull TBow down to seal against coverplate.
Once latch pawl is in place snap the cover back in and then manually pull TBow down so the catches go into coverplate openings. Noe use allen wrench to pull down the TBow until there is 3mm/1/8 inch gap between lower edge of TBow frame and top of coverplate. This compresses weatherstrip without rattle from top to coverplate contact.
Action is complete.
