2004 XC70
My drivers window seems to have come off the track. Has anyone removed the inner door panel to get at the window track? If so, any hints or tricks? Thanks!!

Around the edge of the door you'll find 1/2" round retainers with a an 1/8" dot in the middle. Push the dot in about an 1/8"; that will release tension in the retainer, {you can remove it and reuse it by pushing the internal shaft back out a 1/4", install and push the dot flush}.
Carefully pry off the cover on the door handle to reveal two torx screws. Remove them. Pull the door panel straight up and over the manual door lock. Reverse to replace.

Tip # 1: look on U Tube. i found a video there when I pulled panel off XC.
When the previous respondent said to push those center buttons in abotu 1/8", believe it, Push them too far and the center will shoot into the door. Do it correctly, and you can re-use them.
Yes, there are plugs into the door panel. 2 on the windows control pad and another on the speaker.
If it jumped the track, you may have busted one of the fail-safe blue slidey things that allow themselves to snap rather than making a pretzel out of the regulator arms (if the teenage drivers int eh family keep hitting the window-down button even when it's obvious that the window is frozen.) IPD calls them part #115763, "SLIDING BLOCK"
If you need to get the window up, and keep it up while you wait for parts, you can slide it up while lifting the regulator arms (window "up" on the appropriate switch), then unplug the switch, re-assemble the door, and drive it 'til your parts arrive. One of the kids' XC's got several hundred miles in this mode, until car and parts were both back in Mom & Dad's driverway.

Thanks! I figured one of the rollers may have broken so I already have a couple of new ones in hand. I was able to get the window up by lifting on it and briefly toggling the window switch.

I did this job yesterday. It is quite easy and the rear roller was indeed broken. There are 8 plastic clips to remove as described above and two torx screws under the door handle. The handl cover prys off easily with a screwdriver starting from the bottom and working your way up. Also, the plastic corner piece at the very front-top of the door panel prys off in a similar manner. There are four connections to the panel; 3 eletrical plugs and the door latch cable. The 3 plugs (two in the switch, one in the speaker) are easy to unplug. The door latch cable is rather intuitive once you see it but difficult to describe here (maybe the youtube video will help you, I didn't watch it). NOTE: If you can, roll the window down/up about half way or you won't be able to access the rollers. Fit the glass in its track, slide the broken plastic roller out and the new one in and then the regulator arm pushes into the roller with a snap.

Ok, well back to the drawing board. Less then a week after the repair, the new roller broke and the window is out the track again. When I first replaced it, I cycled the window through a few times and it was working well. Any ideas on what to look at that would cause this?
The first time it broke was totally my fault, I tried opening the window with ice on it but this time it was completely dry and warm. Thanks for any insight!
...maybe I should start a new thread.
EDIT*** - I jumped the gun a bit. Got the door panel off and the rear clip was just disconnected from the arm. I put it back on and again the window works normally but I am afraid it is going to jump off again.
