2000 S80 T6 troubleshooting

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2000 S80 T6 troubleshooting

Post by MyS40T4 »

Hello,

Currently doing some work on the S80 T6 - I kept getting a PO234 / 6805 error code "boost too high" despite replacing almost all vacuum hoses and upgrading the TCV to a heavy duty one (off fleabay).

While dismantling the car to replace the heater hoses, replace the water pump, upgrade the control arm bushes to urethane, fix the brake pedal position sensor and fix the oil leaks (typical weekend for an S80 ;-), I took a look at the vacuum hose on the turbo itself (gearbox end) and found this:

Pretty sure I've found the issue! It seems obvious, to check ALL the hoses but this one is quite well hidden...

Checked the other turbo and the hose looks OK (peering through the wheel arch [timing belt side] with a torch), but will change it once I've finished the turbo drain seal that's giving me a hard time.

Anyway, hope this might help someone!

Cheers,

Chris

yes that is exactly what happened to me. I replaced the main three thinking that they were the only three to change and still go the codes. I was told of the 2 mini hoses and one was completely severed like you showed. Problem solved
