Hi,
I need to get my brake lines replaced. My car has the 17" wheels. I am having a hard time finding anything listed for my car. Most are listed as 16" wheels. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Also if you have a recommendation for a brand/model please pass this along.
Thanks.

"All the same" in this context isn't quite the usual.
Usually around here we take that to mean that a part from a wide range of models and years will suit.
This time, it means go get some generic brake line and a flare tool.
Yes, I know. Dogs and cats living together, nuns and priests having children, rain is dry, et cetera, and there is indeed one generic part you can and should use in your Volvo.

The metal lines are exactly the same regardless of calipers. The rubber hoses are not different on the front when the rotors get larger. The caliper is moved 13 or so mm outwards and the hoses don't have to go even that distance further outward. The hoses can reach that distance with no changes.
I think OP is asking about the hoses.
I have used Centric for metal braided.

Hoses? I went with the IPD set.
And, had to redo the rear metal lines because they were rusted into a single lump where the nut should have been. At this age, doing hoses means doing lines.

He has a 96. Whether it's a base, GLT, R or Platinum the lines are all the same.kcodyjr wrote:"All the same" in this context isn't quite the usual.

If the metal line is corroded, then yes, replace it.
If the metal line is still good, then replace only the hoses. The Rear hoses pose some challenge b/c of limited space. Below is the Volvo forum from the UK with some very good tips.
If you remove the metal line from the car, then it is much easier to replace the hose (you will likely need a propane torch):

Yes, Matty, I know. My point was that they're also "all the same" as any other car, for once.Matty Moo wrote:He has a 96. Whether it's a base, GLT, R or Platinum the lines are all the same.
