1998 V70 UTE

Post by tomj2222 »

Over the past few days on the internet I've come across UTE's and UTE conversions which seem to be highly popular in New Zealand. It had me wondering if anyone had first hand experience in converting a V70 into one?

Got links? IMO, the V70XC is getting pretty close already.

The guys at Berry Motor Group in Melbourne, Australia have done this with a 240. Neat job too - they are an indy mech shop. Nice guys there. Use your google-fu.

oooo I love that 850. I'd do that to my XC in a heartbeat if I felt it would be that well done. The XC would be a better fit than that R they converted because of its self-leveling rear shocks and slightly higher ride
2011 XC70 T6 - current
2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Q2 - Totaled in 2022. Not my fault.
2011 XC60 - sold
2000 V70XC - given to a friend, wish I still had it.

Love it! There is a local guy here who has done this with a full size Buick wagon (Caprice). It looks factory and always turns heads. I had a brief thought of trying it with my 850 a while back but thankfully snapped out if such a delusion.
I am not an expert mechanic, but I will attempt any repair. Worst case scenario is I screw it up worse than it was.
