Hi All

New to the forum and need some help please

Since buying the car about 3 months ago we have had it serviced and have put engne cleaner through. This has happened about four times either when idle and once when the car had been turned off. The car revs are very high and smoke comes out of the exhaust. Any ideas?

Don't know a thing about the deisel engine but you need to be careful with engine cleaners. Many are abrasive and will cause issues with your rings, which could be the reason for the smoke to begin with. AutoRx (search it with google) seems to be one of the very few trusted engine cleaners.

How many miles on the engine, what colour is the smoke and where are you from?

Have you used an oil additive or a fuel additive?

Oil additives supposedly "clean out sludge and contaminants in the oil". Fuel additives clean the fuel lines and the injectors.
