Dried tree sap, can it be removed?

Post by Rondo »

Ok, just got back from overseas and my sin has been parking my car under the trees at the house. Now all of the sap has dried. I've tried some of the removers out there but nothing has worked so far. Short of sanding and repainting, is there anything else I can do? The paint is in really good shape otherwise and I'd like to get it back in shape. Thanks.

Thanks for those. I've tried some of them before, but perhaps I'll be a bit more patient and let it soak. That seems to be the trick.

Let us know what works best as what you've described seem to be a stickier mess than most people will encounter.

Update: WD-40 was the trick. Put a few drops on a piece of paper towel and left it on the dried sap spots for about 10 minutes. Everything came right off. If you look very closel, you can see where the spots were, but tthey should rub out nicely. Thanks for the help!
