92 740 Blower Motor Replacement Question

Post by burnout8488 »

Girlfriend's mother has a screeching blower motor. Easy for me on the P80 cars, but I'm completely unfamiliar with RWD Volvos.

Is this a bear of a job, or 30-60 minutes? I've been searching around and have gotten varying results. Can't tell if it's something that requires removing half the dash, or just taking out the glovebox and going from there.

Thanks for any info or tips! I'd like to tell her it's something I can tackle, but if it's going to take me a few hours I might pass on this job. Not enough time lately.

Have you looked under the dash behind the glovebox?

I don't have access to the car. Not a clue what that area looks like other than sitting in it a few times. I haven't even looked over there, she just had me test the fan and run back inside. (It was 0ºF) Then I came home.

Well thank you! This looks like a relative breeze compared to other RWDs.
