P0014 on 2000 S80 T6

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

P0014 on 2000 S80 T6

Post by Bluevanacd2005 »

I just got my T6 back together (new head), and it runs flawlessly. Only thing is it throws the timing over advanced code right away after clearing it. Not worried about how its running, but worried about long term damage to the engine (burnt valves or whatnot). According to the ECU, the timing typically varies between -2 degrees and +33 degrees on the exhaust cam when cruising and putting it to the floor and letting off completley. So my question is: what are the specs supposed to be? I want to try and get a feel for how far off it is....

Thanks,
Spenser

I had some spare time today, so I thought I would back the timing off a little bit. After looking at the slotted holes on the cam gear I realized I cannot back the timing of using them because they are at the full retarded limits. This makes me think the only way to back it off more it through the VVT actuator on the end of the cam. Is this right?
