For a while now I was getting a little "clunk, clunk, clunk" when I would take off from a stop or when I slowed to a stop. Last weekend I was driving and the clunking also happened when I would go over bumps.
I put the car onto jackstands and moved the each wheel front left to right resulting in a clunk deeper under the hood, (same thing both sides). No noise with up and down. With the car up I went into the car and turned the steering wheel resulting with a clunk in the same area as with the wheel test.
I'm thinking that the joints on the drive shafts are bad. Does anyone agree and if not what other things should I be looking at.
Also if you agree, what kind of nightmare am I looking at in replacing or should I mechanic the car.
