I have a '59 (2009) reg XC60 with the diesel engine 2.4 SE.
The car is regularly serviced, Volvo recommend the chain tensioner is replaced at 54K miles.
There is a local garage that specializes in Volvo's, they say there is no need to change it.
Can you advise me please.
Thanks

Hi Simon.
Just to let you know that I have a 2009 T6 with 216 000km and Volvo here have also said the chain never needs to be changed.
I hope they are correct but thought I would let you know

They are 2 very different engines. I would gather some more data about the diesel's timing chain longevity before making a decision.
