FCP Euro - less expensive shipping effective now

Post by matthew1 »

You may have seen this if you subscribe to FCP's email newsletter, but if not:
You spoke, we listened. Based on our 2014 Annual Customer Survey Results it became apparent that our shipping charges were too high. We've just lowered our shipping and handling costs on ALL international and domestic orders. These rates will be effective on all orders shipped starting immediately and the new shipping prices are reflected online. Here are the details
  • International Shipping reduced overall by 50%
  • Domestic Shipping reduced overall by 25%
  • Free Economy Shipping (Contiguous US) remains at $25
  • $4.99 Economy Shipping (Contiguous US) under $25
Larger international orders may qualify for larger shipping discounts. For a quotes on larger orders please call 877-634-0063 or email [email protected] for a quote.
If you order from FCP or any of the MVS sponsors, please click-through to their sites via the ads on MVS. For FCP, their ad is on my home page: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/

To MVS sponsors, clicks of ads here (as opposed to you typing in their site URL) register as traffic coming from MVS to them, which is what they expect for their advertising dollar. Thanks!
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

I would like to use the Amazon links to order parts from site sponsors eEuroparts through their Amazon listings however not one of their listings is geared for Australian post; it's a shame that's the case.

If shipping is the same cost as buying from them through their regular site, I'd guess they're not using the Australian Amazon distribution center(s).

I'll ping eEuropart's CEO and ask him about it.

I've ordered a ton of parts for Volvos recently from Amazon USA and none of them was sourced from Australia. I ran the tracking details on each order to see where it originated from.

I have a Wishlist full of parts, however only 50% of the parts will ship here. None of them will ship from eEuroparts' Amazon listings.

Amazon's local warehouses are in infancy stages, concentrating on things such as homewares, clothing and kit furniture.

It would bee great to see if eEuroparts they can extend their coverage.

They are not using a regional distribution center, but Matt Moran, eEuroparts CEO, said he'd look at that or alternatives for the future. Also, he wrote:
1) For AU users it's going to be cheaper to order through the site as the "price" for shipping is added to all of our listings on eBay and Amazon. It's what eBay and Amazon are pushing for on all items so we're giving it to them. So if you need to buy more than a single item it's always cheaper to buy through the site and consolidate. As you purchase more items it's significantly cheaper.

2) Our 2014 prices for shipping especially to AU and JP are significantly reduced thanks in large part to a significant increase in international volume in 2013. That allowed us to go back to FedEx for a better deal which we're now passing along to customers. I feel like we've always been one of the most aggressive international shippers but now we're even better. A good example is that a 10 pound package to Australia last year would have cost a customer about $125 USD will now cost approximately $90. I appreciate that it's still expensive but we also have a less than 5 pound deal with FedEx / DHL that ships at almost half the price so if they can keep their packages under 5 total pounds then the rates are VERY low.

Thanks for the follow-up Matthew. On the surface it seems it's more cost-effective to look for their eBay listings. Will need to follow that up.
