1995 850T with 133,000 miles. Vehicle went into what appears to be limp mode when driving. Could not drive above 35 mph, eventually leading to barely keeping running and barely making it back to the house. FIrst experience with a Volvo. (purchased 6 months ago)
Vehicle will start okay. Once started, the vehicle will rough idle. There is a hesitation when pressing accelerator prior the the RPM's increasing. At/Around 2500-3000 RPM's it appears as the car is operating properly. When attempting to drive, vehicle will start to accelerate properly, then will start sputtering and hesitating.
I changed distributor cap and rotor. Installed new fuel filter. Cleaned MAF sensor, and sprrayed throttle body cleaner into chamber (thinking this was a mistake.....)
When replacing spark plugs, found spark plug cylinder #4 to have oil inside the chamber. Vehicle has white smoke coming from exhaust and smells of sulfer.
Service Engine light intermittantly comes on. Coolant light has been coming off and on for the past two months, generally when turning corners. Previous checks of resevoir showed little loss of coolant. Resevoir was considerably low when I looked at it.
There is no coolant leaking into engine. (No "milky white" mix)
Car has been okay up to this point and some minor maintenance has been performed.
RIght now I am chasing cheap fixes, but I have a feeling it is about to get expensive.

First, get the code read.

Second, make sure ALL the clamps for the intercooler hoses are tight, and there is NO torn with the intercooler hoses.
Report back after you've done those two things.

Premature post, but located where to obtain the codes. The wire that should be coming out of the box is sheared off. (Just a few copper strands left) Can a wire be placed into hole in order to obtain the reading or does the wire have to be connected into the unit?
There is less than 1/8" and only 3 strands, so I cannt splice another wire into it. I will check intercooler hoses next.

was able to take a piece of copper wiring and run as a jumper between A2 and where the wire is sheared. With the ignition in the first position, I only receive a steady light. No flashing.
Found a torn hose. It is the hose going into the TB. The hose is T-Shaped. Connections are tight on either side, but torn where it appears another hose is spliced into it. I hope this makes sense.

Corrected hose and issue still persists. Turbo which I think would indicate air pressure is higher after cold start and there isn't any hesitation when increasing RPM's until engine gets warmer. Air pressure does drop and that is when hesitation begins. Still can drive vehicle withou sputtering hesitation.
