1) I have 2001 V70 XC;
Master window switch on the driver' s side has a problem.
--- All the windows work properly Except the Master window
----- The driver's side mirror does not work:;The passenger's side mirror works as it should.
I have replaced with an used master window switch coming from a 2001 V70 XC;
Even then the problem remains.
All the windows work except the master window.
Also the mirror does not work on the driver's side but perfectly works on the passenger side.
Will programming help. But then one has to go to the dealer.Any other solutions?
2) Remote key opens and closes all the doors except the driver's side. I have to close it manually using the key.
Any solutions ,I will be most grateful for the above problems.
2001 V70 XC,Master window switch/remote key
The Master window switch in my 2001 V70 was acting up (intermittent driver window operation) so I removed it and took it apart. The key to taking the switch apart is the use of toothpicks to raise the plastic so as to clear the tabs which hold to switch together.
The attached pictures show the top trim, the control knobs, a rubber "movable contact" sheet, and a printed circuit card. If you blow-up the rubber sheet you will see "carbon contacts" which are embedded into the rubber sheet. I cleaned each MOVABLE CONTACT on the rubber sheet with a pencil eraser. I also cleaned each corresponding "STATIONARY CONTACT" position on the printed circuit card with a pencil eraser. I used q-tips wetted with a window cleaner and wiped down the board "contact positions" as well as each individual carbon contact on the rubber sheet.
(Note: Circuit card ribbon connector can be "unplugged" from the printed circuit card by lifting the white lock around the top of the connection point which will release the ribbon cable. When reconnecting the ribbon cable, the lock must be in the raised position. The ribbon cable is then inserted squarely to properly make the connections to the board and the lock is then pressed toward the circuit card to lock the ribbon cable in place.)
Carefully put the switch back together and reinstall into door.
Upon reinstalling the switch, I operated every switch and each one worked without hesitation.
I found that cleaning the shiny film off the movable contacts and their corresponding positions on the circuit card was all that was required to fix my switch.
