I attempted to replace my aluminum console panels with the wood ones today and the install went according to plan until I turned my car on. All of the interior lights work, including the ones for my hazard light switch, shifter lights, and switch for the lights themselves. However, all of the controls on the waterfall panel, the in-dash GPS and the instrument cluster have no power at all. The instruction booklet provided by Volvo didn't say anything about having to disconnect the battery as the ICM (LCD screen) is the only electronic being disconnected. Can some one lead me down the right path here? I'm worried that I might have cost myself some serious money.
Thanks,
Ryan
2011 V50 Waterfall panel, instruments, GPS all dead
Update: I have never been so relieved to be embarrassed. I took it all apart again and found that i didn't plug one of the electrical connections back together. If it was only the waterfall console that didn't work, I would have suspected that immediately but since the instrument panel stopped as well it threw me off. Oy.
