01 S80 paint outer door window trim? (img)

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

01 S80 paint outer door window trim? (img)

Post by midimykeys »

I picked up this S80 from an 80yr old man who kept the car in immaculate condition, with the exception of the door frame around the window. My guess is he leaned on it with his keys getting in and out, and now I'm trying to get rid of the scratches. Any ideas for paint or dye or something I haven't thought of? You guys are out-of-the-box thinkers, so I thought I'd give you a shot :)

Maybe? SEM Trim Black. It matches most older trim items. Not sure on this

It's a tape like substance.

You can buy a new one from the dealer:

Or you can remove it:

Regarding the black vinyl window trim ... I hated that junk and finally took it off this summer. When I bought the car it was all scratched up, especially on the front doors. It was then that I realized the door frames were painted underneath. It wasn't the easiest job and I went through several eraser wheels making a huge mess, but I really like the results!

The vehicle is not mine: http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread ... ost2217097
Finally had the chrome Tucana's installed:

If I had to guess, I'd say they're 17s.

Seems to be the only size for that wheel listed on Viva's site: http://www.vivaperformance.com/17x7-5-t ... l-chromed/

Hey Matt ~ looks good! I'm wondering though, why didn't you remove the tape from the little rear windows also. Seems to me that it would complete the look you were going for.

Depends how long you want to spend.

Scuff removing wheels would be fastest but require paint TouchUp afterwards.
