1994 Volvo 850 Carpet/Seat Replacment

Post by mmd94 »

So I have been restoring my 1994 Volvo 850 Little by little. Still working on the engine, but have been slowly working on the interior also. I am working on fixing the plastic and vinyl. Hoping that someone can tell me where or how to replace the carpet. If molded replacements aren't available then can I cut it out from rolls of carpet, and how would I go about doing it correctly. The second item is the seats, anyone know where to send the seats to have them repaired correctly, or where a kit may be that doesn't involve glue to repair it. its mainly stitching that came apart.

Pick and pull yard.
Less than $200. Leather seats front and rear. Carpet $16. Dash pad @20.
If you have a decent pull yard you can get lucky. These were for my Sedan.

Otherwise the parts will add up to more than a 1994 850 is worth.
Good salvaging.

I agree, junk yard where you can pull them yourself. I did the same, seats were on sale $8.99 each (regular $29.99), steering wheel $10, door panels $10 each, wood trim $5, glove box door $5, overhead light switches $8, coffee cup holder $4. I sold the old passenger seat for $40.

I did the carpet on my 94. It wasn't very difficult. If I remember correctly it was one piece. You'll need to remove the seats and the panels under each side of the dash. I used a newer model year's 3 piece set and the overlap can't be seen when you're done. I also deep cleaned them before I put them in my car. You can practice the process while removing them from the donor car. Well worth the effort.
