Front Rotor Topic is solved

I replace my front brakes and rotors on my 98 S70 and the very next day I notice on the right side the rotor was all gouged up. can anyone tell me what could be the problem. that's why I had to replace them because that same side was rub down to bare metal.

When you say "gouged" are there actual deep scores, or scratches? I would think if anything, sounds like the caliper itself is not retracting all the way.
I would pull that side again, and make sure all the components are working freely and the caliper piston is smooth, all the way back.

They are deep scores for a rotor thats just being on the car for a day. they were scores all around the rotor. How do you know when the caliper is bad? and how do you test them?

Ok, if you did it yourself, the piston should retract all the way when you go to re-install it. Not just back far enough to get it over the disc again, but a little further, so there is "some" room for freeplay. If it is a real tight fit getting it back on, I would think it isn't going all the way back, to release the pad between rotor and piston, causing it to just slowly grind away.
It should have a little freeplay, and be smooth when you squeeze it all the way back and out a little again. Just try and exercise it and see if it's sticking.
