s70 mysterious leak?

Post by AVIP »

First off thank you all for your help this forum is an amazing resource!

Secondly I have a new issue. I checked my car for leaks today and found one under my car on the driver side by the driver side wheel but doesn't look steering rack related?

What is this? Someone point me in the right direction? I jacked it with the volvo jack and I didnt have stands with me so I didnt want to go all the way under to investigate.

I know for sure my pcv is clogged. My pedal sensor on my master Cylinder is leaking (only drops. Fluid is still max after months). And the engine bay is dry! It almost looks under the air box. Not sure what it could be?

Dont think it could be my ac. Only 70 out lol

Upon further inspection it looks like the tranny? Why would it be leaking?

Why does anything leak?
Because a seal goes bad

Make sure you know exactly where the source of leak is: seal, gasket, or dipstick tube.
If your transmission fluid level is too high, it may leak over out the dipstick. Check to see if the level is OK and verify you do not have coolant ingress through a leaking radiator into the trans. cooler before you decide. (This does not happen very often on your YM but wouldn't hurt to check.)
:D
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.
Disclaimer: We (very) seldom do that

It stops at the pan so I assume its a gasket or the pan. I watched roberts video on checking tranny fluid and its finnicy but mine still shows full. Lots of it too.

Seems like something not worth fixing on her. Not much ill get out of her anyways. Might as well save up for a new car and add tranny fluid every so often:)

Glad we got to the bottom of it
