1998 S70 T5 Taking weight off
There's a track opening in a couple years in my city and I am trying to make the volvo track ready. Just wanted to know, what you guys suggest for lightening the car? I'm a beginner, so please bear with me and all my questions.

I'd go to volvospeed.com with this, the folks over there are deeper into this side of the Volvo.

Interior needs to come out except drivers seat. Empty the truck completely.
Make sure ball joints, bearings, upper strut mounts and control arm bushings are at 100%. Upgrade your sway bars and buy some decent tires after car has reached Stage 0 tune up with all new fluids including brake, transmission, engine and power steering fluids. If its a low speed, hard acceleration track you may want an additional pusher fan up front . Make sure you can pass tech by getting the rules up front,
You may have to replace coolant with distilled water and water wetter, tape up lights and safety wire some parts.
Remember - Smooth is fast

My main concern will be how my car takes corners. The pure weight of the car is causing some body roll, even with my upgraded suspension.
Also, with taking out all the interior, will it greatly effect the weight distribution? If so, what can I do to combat this?

how much stripping are you willing to do? does the car still need to be usable as a daily driver, or an occasional peoplehauler, or can you totally rip everything out?
what's going on with your suspension right now? mods?
i'd second the recommendation to hit up VS, btw.

It's always going to be nose-heavy and tail-happy on throttle lift-off. Some relocate the battery to the trunk, may help a small bit, but probably not all that much.
Still, less weight = faster. Depends how extreme you're going with it. I had a friend with a Miata that was practically all metal inside, even took out the whole dash and gauges, just relocated some aftermarket ones to the steering column.

Body roll is "sway" so start with suspension. Anti- sway bars to meet the need on springs that are set right (if adjustable). You will only have a minor change in weight distribution which will come into play quickly if the suspension isn't set up right. If we are not relocating the engine/trans you are always going to be front heavy . Use your suspension and brakes to help you get through the corners smoothly.
Its also fun to start out stock at stage 0 and see how she does.
This was the old standard manual for setting up on track day. You can buy it anywhere . This was the first picture to pop up. If buying from amazon please use Matts link above

Is it a drag strip for 1/4 mile runs or another type of track? I would just do a stage 0 and go there to see how things are before trying to max out your first day. They have those days to help people experience the joys of seeing their mods develop while they mod.
