98 V70 AWD Tire Question

Are 225/45 17 definitely too big for my car? Stock suspension. I can handle a little rubbing in in the front wheel wells but don't want to tear them up. I have access to some good used tires for my summer (volvo) wheels.

I am running this tire size on 17" S60 rims. I bought the car this way, and so see some rubbing on the inner arch but not so much I am concerned. I do think I'd rather have 215 tires instead, but that will wait until these are worn out.

Thanks, good to hear. The tires I'm looking at have maybe 2~3 more seasons to go and I can get them for free for setting up a home network for them. Hankook's and look pretty healthy.

Hankooks are ok tires. some are good an others are poor for grip and wet weather. Also are fairly soft. But for the 'price' can't be too un-happy.

Below is the car fitted with 17" wheels.
