2002 C70 VOLVO trunk emblem stolen

Post by eldorado98 »

Some people drive me nuts. Just noticed someone took the V off my trunk emblem. It now reads OLVO. I know they took it because they put two good scratches over where the V was. At any rate, I'm thinking of removing the whole thing. Looks like the letters are applied with a heavy black adhesive. You guys have any idea what solvent (or otherwise) I might use to break them loose? My only other concern is that because the car is 11 years old it may show the Volvo image due to paint fade. Thoughts??

Use a straight razor to remove the rest of the letters, but be careful not to dig into the paint. Then use something like turtle wax adhesive remover to get the rest off.

Use a wire or string to pull through the adhesive and then roll off the rest of the adhesive with fingers. The sticky residue left will come off with any car wax. I would just buy a V and put it back on.

This reminds me of a Top-Gear episode where Captain Slow is driving an 850, and Hammond + Clarkson rearrange the emblem to read "OLDVO". Funny.

It was the episode where they are crossing a gator infested river in Africa.
