'92 240 Limp Turnsignal switch?

My 240 is suffering from, what I understand, is a common problem. The turn signal switch is limp, ie. it will not stay engaged in the turn position.

The question is: is it possible to repair the switch or should it just be replaced? Cost is quite high (at $120.00+) so I want to be sure before making the purchase.

It is a common fault which, as far as I know, is not repairable.

I understand that you need the switch with cruise control. Have you tried breakers? As I don't live in the US I can only go on what I read here, but I believe a company called vovoerie?? is quite good. No doubt if I got the name wrong someone else will put it right.

Give them a try...they have most parts from Volvo's off of salvaged vehicles.
Go to their website, get their phone number and call them. They are terrible at answering their email in a timely manner but are great guys to deal with.
