When i open my glove box and push anywhere along the red line I drew at the top of the glove box the major squeaking noise disapears. Therefore, I was thinking of adding some self taping screws along this red line. To ensure the door closes, I will put the head of the screw on my bench grinder to make them low profile.
Any thoughts? Is it okay to drill in this area with a short screw. Please advise. I really don't want my car squeaking like a 1980s GM product.

Take your GC out and press again, may be the dash itself, not the box. If it is the box, take it our, tape on a piece of felt and re-install.

The applied force may be stopping the dash from squeaking, not the glovebox. The classic failure is the screw mounts through the bulkhead break off and then you have the dreaded squeak.

I had a ferocius squeaking glovebox. I removed the box and still had some plastic-on-plastic squeaking from the door.
I took off the door, unscrewed the inner panel and applied a little silicon (brake) lube to the places where inner and outer touch. Also a little lube on the four corners where the door rubs the dash (not visible with door closed). That took care of the squeak. I still need to replace the box and deal with any remaining noise, maybe trying the felt idea, but this was very effective so far.
Another place to look is where the bottom of the dash attaches to the A pillar. Pull back the sill trim and check the hidden screw- mine was loose.

IF that's causing it to stop squeaking in the upper corner by the windshield, often a folded piece of paper/felt tucked in between the dash and windshield will put enough pressure on it to make it shut up.

I used some black rubber, 15 inches long and I cut it so you can't see it sticking out. I wedged it between the dash and the windshield. It seems to have fixed the most annoying squeaks, thanks!jblackburn wrote:IF that's causing it to stop squeaking in the upper corner by the windshield, often a folded piece of paper/felt tucked in between the dash and windshield will put enough pressure on it to make it shut up.
