The Steering Wheel has a vibration when the engine is idling but stationary. Giving a little higher RPM removes the vibration. The car has 140k but in very good condition and was cared for by PO. Based on few posts from other forums I was recommended to replace Right Front Engine Mount which I did this weekend. The steering wheel vibration got better at idle but still present when transmission is engaged into any gear. The replaced Motor Mount was okay but on its way out. I checked other Motor Mounts (middle-front and rear) and they look good.
Is this normal for XC70 AWD to have a slight Steering Wheel vibration?
If not, what can be done to have it go away?
Thank you

I had the same steering wheel vibration (vibration inside in general) at idle on a 2002 XC70 at ~200K miles. I replaced all bottom mounts and the problem was gone. I actually wanted to know which mount was the main culprit, and found that the very last one I replaced--the REAR mount effectively removed most of the vibration. The car is much quieter during acceleration as well now. Note that when I inspected the old mount it looked fine. Not clear why the rear one would make such an impact in vibration, but I suspect its close proximity to the steering rack may have something to do with it. And the fact that it sees more heat than the front one may mean that it wears out faster... Just a thought...
Good luck,
