1992 240 no spark
1992 240 no spark
I have a 1992 240 station wagon it was running fine and I came out the next morning and no fire. There are no other wires coming to the distributor other than the spark plug wires and coil wire. I changed the coil, but later realized I have no voltage to the coil. I need some help.

The reason why there are no other wires to the distributor is this: it uses a crank position sensor located at the back of the engine above the bell housing. Check the condition of the wires.

Check the in-line fuse that governs the ignition system located on the left front fender.
Check the ignition control unit located below the glove compartment for any obvious damage.
Check the battery voltage to the amplifier.
Check the coolant temp sensor.
Check the engine speed (crankshaft) sensor.
Check the control unit switching function.
