Hi guys,
I hate to join and post without introductions, but I'm in dire straights...
I've done a search on this topic and it has popped up several times but no one has suggested a solution. I thought I would try again.
I pulled the windshield washer lever last night and everything worked fine, except the washer would not stop, nor would the wipers. Today I disconnected the wiper lever from the steering wheel (unplugging both electrical connections). The problem persisted.
After that, I took the washer reservoir off (disconnecting both pumps and the low level switch). The wipers still run continuously.
Does anyone have any idea how to correct this? I do not have an electrical diagram of the circuit and do not know where the relay is.
Thanks for reading.

I'm not sure on a V70 but on an 850 relay number 9 controls the front wipers and relay number 10 controls the rear wiper.Does anyone have any idea how to correct this? I do not have an electrical diagram of the circuit and do not know where the relay is.
EDIT
The number 9 was in the manual for location purposes only. The front wipers run off of relay 203. It is located under the dashboard, on the drivers side, to the left of the steering column. You will need to remove the knee bolster panel to get to it.

Well, despite my own efforts and pleas in every corner of the internet, I had to seek professional assistance. It kills me to spend money this way, but sometimes it's the wiser choice.
Anyway, apparantly there is an electrical relay (or switch) that is part of the headlight wiper motors circuit that actuates the circuit and powers up the reservoir pump and windshield motors when the windshield spray lever is pulled. There was a short in that component that sent juice to the pump and windshield wipers after releasing the lever on the column.
At least it's fixed.
PS - thanks for chiming in earlier Ozark. The main relays for the V70 are under the hood next to the fuse box. They are all labled and none is an obvious choice for the components that were operating.
