Are the Original Equipment Spark Plugs Worth the price?

Post by uhlan »

:?:

Seems that for my 2000 S40 I can buy a set of 4 spark plugs (Bosch or the like) for ~$10. Plugs from the dealer run ~$28.

Do you guys thinks the dealer plugs are truly necessary or worth it?

What plugs do you use/recommend?

I replaced the plugs on my 850 with the Bosch Platinum +4. The Volvo plugs which I took off where similar to the +4s but had 3 tips. I'm very satisfied with the Bosch plugs.

Watch out for the pronged plugs...if your car is a turbo they are not for your car. I would personally go with OEM plugs even if they cost a bit more.
