Make double sure the large, hinged, hooded connector is well seated. The hood needs catch the pins on the connector portion on the module itself to draw the connector down in place securely.

I think I would give Matty Moo a call, especially if you are in Ontario and can cross the border into MI easily!

Thanks but I would like to repair it myself since I am in a really low budget.

Large harness looks fine, just make sure it's seated down all the way.

Something to remember, your car is now 18 years old so you may have another issue outside of the module.

thanks for your answer.
this is true. It is confusing though. Is there any possibility that it could be one or more of the sensors?

Thanks for this tut. I did this today on my dads 1998 v70, as the light had been on since the previous owner had it. I just reflowed and added some solder to the two power supply joints, fitted it back in and after driving about 50m, the light vanished. It took me about 3 hours to crack open the box though, I did it as neat as possible.

I used a 4mm socket instead of an E-5 torn socket and it fits perfectly for me. My socket wrench has a swivel head so the "tricky" bolt was not too difficult to remove.
