Here's an odd one: Drove 300 or so miles up into the mountains (not too high--5400 feet). After setting up camp a friend and I decided to take a drive around. Started the car, put it in gear and noticed the engine wasn't responding to my attempts to accelerate. Popped the hood and started looking around. Could find nothing disconnected. Crawled under the dash and looked at the accelerator pedal. There isn't a cable or anything--it's all done electronically. Wires and a disc of sorts, I'm sure those of you in the know know of what I speak.
Anyway, after a while I tried starting again and lo and behold--the accelerator worked fine. We wondered if the event weren't heat related, but it happened a second time and heat was not a factor. This morning we changed plans--broke down the camp site and hit the road. Fortunately, the event didn't happen again, so I didn't shut the engine down 'til I got back home.
Anyone have any ideas on what might be ailing the ol' gal? Thanks in advance!

ETM--that sounds like it. It also sounds like one of those commercials on TV: "Do you suffer from ETM? See your doctor..."
Sigh. Well, this is going to be my fourth several hundred dollar repair in about four months of owning this car. I'm about ready for that to stop. Love it when it's working well, but getting to a place 150 miles from a mechanic, a place without internet access, then having something go wrong...that's not high on my list of things I like.
