Hello all,
I recently purchased another Volvo. It's a 94 850 Turbo that was manual swapped. The owner I bought it off of purchased the car with a blown motor, and replaced it with the newer OBDII model. When he did this, he removed the entire A/C system, and did it very stupidly.. Cut lines, broke bolts, etc..
I'm trying to get the system replaced before the 100 degree weather comes around, and need some help with the parts list. I found a small diagram on Google, that linked me to eEuroParts.com, however, I can't seem to figure out everything I need.
If someone has a list, or could link me to a better diagram with the exact parts I need, it would be very helpful. I do need everything for the system, compressor, condensor, evap, all of it. I was able to find all of the major components easily, like the compressor and what not, I'm just having issues figuring out exactly what lines and seals and what not that I need. I'd like to replace the lines and everything anyway, that way I don't need to worry about anything leaking.
Thank you!!

The page from VIDA doesn't convert to a .pdf properly but this lists the part numbers. If you can get you hands on a copy of VIDA or VADIS, and get your computer to run it, the diagram has much better clarity. Some of the dealership websites have the same diagram in a form where you can actually see it.

I assume the P.O. left the Evap in place, if not, then you will need this DIY:
http://www.woodjoiner.com/volvo/VolvoEvapReplace.pdf
For PNs (compressor, hoses, dryer, O-rings etc.) use the following website to get the PN. Then do your research carefully, not all hoses are the same quality.
http://www.eeuroparts.com/Cars/Volvo/16 ... C-Heating/
You can get old hoses from junk yard but there is a risk of debris in system.
Compressor OEM is Zexel.
The hoses, O-rings etc. I prefer to get OEM Volvo stuff because aftermarket stuff can be a hit-or-miss issue.
The dryer, you can use a generic dryer.

Amazing, thank you guys so much! I going to go to a U Pull it and grab some of the metal lines if I can. I do need the Evap, so that tutorial will help very much.

Re: Evap. This is a job you do NOT want to do twice. So do some research on brands etc.
Most people prefer Volvo OEM Evap and O-rings. It will cost more but less headache later!
The lines from junk yard, make sure you flush them thoroughly!
Ditto for the compressor from junk yard (if you go that route).

If you do go the PnP route (junkyard) I would look for an AC system which still has Freon in it. You can test by just blipping the low pressure valve to see if cold gas vents.
If it still has Freon it is unlikely to have major corrosion on things like the metal lines.
