Re: 1998 s70 Mass air flow sensor keeps going bad
I am 35K+ miles on a very cheap after market MAF. 25.2 MPG and the only code is a recent P0455. I'm not advocating, I have a new original BOSCH in my trunk. I'm actually running an experiment to see if this thing holds up and so far, pretty good. Regular air filter and maintenance items performed as needed. Plugs, cap, rotor and wires are all newish (same 35K+) and proper parts.

Gotta chime in here. All three of my 1998's have reman MAF sensors from Autozone. They are all stamped Bosch but re-manufactured by Cardone. My 1998 V70 has been using the AZ MAF for over three years now with no problems (30,000+ miles), the S70 for over 5,000 miles, and the V90 for around 8,000 miles.
Perhaps I'm exceptionally lucky but I haven't had a problem with rebuilt sensors from Autozone.

After cleaning the maf, car drove fine for a few days, but continued to lose power occasionally (mostly when under a strain). Today i found a big hole in the vacuum line coming of the crank case breather valve. Cleaned the valve and the iac unit, both were very dirty. Ran great all day, out of nowhere car died. It'll start up but dies almost immediately. Now it's giving po102, 1505 and 1507 which is maf circuit, low imput, iac opening low and iac closing low. Any input on what s going on?

Not clear from your post, did you fix the vacuum line?
