2000 s70 How do I remove the cam cap?

Post by spott »

I am trying to get to the seal for my camshaft, but I can't figure out how to get the cap off.

It's part 1397381. I have a replacement cap, so I am not worried about destroying the old one.
Any tips??

I just use a screwdriver and a hammer. Use the hammer to punch the screwdriver through the old cap and then pry it off.

Chances are that there won't be a seal on the camshaft itself. It is the same rear seal for both the intake and exhaust cams so I added it before I replaced the cap.
