2005 volvo xc90 courtesy lights not working inside

Hi i am wondering can anybody help me, the courtesy lights on my xc90 do not come on when any door of the car is opened, they will however work if i press them manually overhead but the one's in the foot well won't come on. what is funny though is that if i press the yellow button on my key fob the exterior and interior courtesy lights will come on, but again the lights in the foot well won't.
I've checked all bulbs and fuses' that i know of but i cannot find the problem.
Any help?
