If anyone wants to perform a tranny flush with the recommended fluid, amazon has a case of 12 for $59.67 free shipping. The flush hose is a 3/4 hose from home depot and you can purchase the crimps & o rings from fcpeuro

All you need is DEX 3.... about $3 a bottle

You don't need 3309 for 850's. And do NOT mix Dexron and 3309 - they are not compatible.

^ 100% true. This is a helpful notice on a deal for transmission fluid, and like all deals, it's more than welcome on MVS.

Though my 854T doesn't use 3309, the S40 does and a change is coming up soon.
Appreciate the heads-up since I frequent the 850 forum more than the S40.

I'm currently flushing/filling mine with MaxLife full syn. LV from Valvoline. checked online and numerous volvo owners vouch for this brand. they say it's "overkill" but with 225K miles on my V70 I'm ok with the overkill

"Recommended for use where DEXRON, DEXRON II, III and VI, Toyota T-IV and WS, MERCON®, MERCON® SP and LV, Allison TES 389, Nissan Matic-D, Matic-J and Matic-K, Honda Z-1 (except CVT), Mercedes NAG-1, Mitsubishi Diamond SP-II and SP-III and many others are required."

so if the Toyota T-IV is ok, then you can use it because that's compatible.
