Trading in my S70 GLT - Audi/BMW opinions?

Post by macs70GLT »

I'm looking at trading my 98' S70 GLT in for something a little newer & sportier. $10K to $15K price range.

Looking for opinions on BMW 3 series, Audi A4 or Volvo S40 T5

I enjoy working on my cars so maintenance does not deter me (I've heard BMWs require attention)

Anyone with BMW 3 series, Audi A4 or Volvo S40 experience please let me know your experience with these models.

I prefer to get a manual and awd although would also consider the others. I've test driven 325xi and a V50 T5. Haven't been in an Audi yet. I like my S70 but with 216K on the ticker, and normal accessory items starting to fail it's time to start looking.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Thanks cn90

I have driven a few BMWs that were all nice, especially those with manual trans.

Also drove a few Audi A4s. Would have bought the last one, 2004 with just 73K miles. However the PO put a fairly loud sport exhaust on it; might have chipped the computer as well based on how it drove. I don't want to mess with having to undo (exhaust anyway).

Still in the hunt. A dealer north of me has a 2000 S70 GLT SE that I might go see. The only thing lacking in the S70 is a manual trans, but I have enjoyed my current S70 enough that I won't pass on a good well cared for car if I find it.

Thanks

Mike
