1993 850 ECC Unit Differences

Post by jptorny »

I have a 1993 850 with automatic climate control that's throwing several climate control codes, so I've got that on the brain. I was at Pick and Pull this morning looking for some parts, and they happened to have a '93 with an ECC unit. I noticed that the face of the unit looks slightly different than mine. It still has the 'AUT' settings that make me think that this is an ECC (as opposed to an MCC), but I'm not sure why it's different. Are they slightly different for different model years? I've posted a pic of each unit - the one that's wrapped up in a jacket is from my '93, the one that's shown in a dashboard is the one from the Pick and Pull. I searched the forums for ECC info, but most of it is actual troubleshooting and/or repair. Any info on differences between model years, etc (or advice on which unit I should keep!) would be appreciated - thanks.

Hmm...good thought, but if one were Canadian I would expect the cabin temps to be in Celsius...?
