94 volvo 850 tacho not working

hey guy's, I have a 94 Volvo 850 gle and I have a problem with the instrument cluster the rev counter doesn't work I replaced this dash with another one and still no rev counter! does any one know what the problem could be ? every thing else works great bar this one thing.

Given that the problem remains with another cluster then chances are it is a wiring problem. The tachometer signal comes from the ECU on a White/Black wire so you will need to trace the wire back and look for a place where it has been cut or the insulation has been scraped off.
